What does Personal Accident cover?

We have two Personal Accident covers available – Personal Accident (Weekly benefit), and Personal Accident (Death & Capital benefits).

Personal Accident (weekly benefit)

As someone who runs a business, and who therefore depends on being able to work to generate an income, being unable to do as the result of an accident at work is likely to be a significant concern. Personal Accident (weekly benefit) cover is designed to provide a weekly income if you are unable to carry out your usual occupation as the result of an accident sustained at work. If you purchase our Plus cover, you get £400 per week Personal Accident (weekly benefit) cover as standard, and you can increase this up to £600 per week. Personal Accident (weekly benefit) is not available on Essentials or Classic.

Personal Accident (Death & Capital benefits)

The impact of being killed or permanently injured while at work is something that few people would choose to think about. Should the worst happen, and you are killed while at work, or suffer a defined permanent disability such as the loss of a limb or an eye while at work, our Personal Accident (Death & Capital benefits) cover is designed to pay a sum of money. If you purchase our Classic or Plus cover, Personal Accident (Death & Capital benefits) is included as standard. This cover is not included within our Essentials cover.

The personal accident weekly benefit shall be payable for not more than 104 weeks (excluding the first 14 days) in respect of any one injury.
